Plexus Slim Review: What’s with the Pink Drink?

Independent Plexus Slim Review

Plexus Slim is a product that claims to:

Feed your gut beneficial prebiotics, support a healthy glucose metabolism, and lose weight - all with one great-tasting pink drink.

It’s sold in a pouch of 30 single serve packets for $89.95. It’s suggested you have 2 drinks per day. The three main ingredients are Xylooligosaccharides (XOS), Green Coffee Bean Extract, and Chromium. And the product does say that it is clinically proven to lose weight. That being said here are the results of that claim:

Participants in an independent, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, human clinical study, who used one pack of Slim twice a day lost an average of 5.45 pounds in 8 weeks, while the placebo group lost an average of 3.12 pounds.

In terms of the ingredients, Chromium has been proven to help with hunger and in particular cravings for sweet food. If a sweet tooth is your downfall, then chromium can help. The jury is out on green coffee bean extract; it may be helpful. XOS is clinically demonstrated to have digestive health benefits and improvements in blood sugars and lipids. But I can’t argue with science. Plexus must be on to something with the use of these three ingredients. That’s a total additional weight loss of 2.33 pounds over 8 weeks when you take Plexus Slim. But bear in mind, that the participants had Plexus Slim twice a day for 8 weeks which costs $359.80.

Plexus Slim is part of a range of products made by Plexus. The company offers a range of weight management, nutrition supplements, personal care, and skincare products. They have been on the scene since 2008 with an HQ in Arizona. Plexus is the 38th largest direct selling company in the world.

The MLM scheme they operate demands you pay $39.95 annually to be an affiliate.  Then you must sell or buy at least $100 per month to be eligible to claim any commission. At least Plexus are honest about their scheme and your chances of earning commission. 2% of affiliates make the gold grade and they earn an average $10,000 per year. A further 1.5% of affiliates who become senior gold ambassadors or above earn $20,000 or more.

Which leaves the remaining 96.5% of ambassadors that earn next to nothing. They have paid $39.95 and are likely buying at least $100 plus each month of Plexus products in order to remain eligible for their minimal commissions. The products are slightly helpful or snake oil and are ridiculously over-priced such as 3 ounces of body cream for $49.95! That’s $16.65 per ounce, more than Clarins or Clinique!

Think carefully if you want to start a career selling Plexus products since very few earn a significant income.

My overall Plexus Slim Review is that it appears to slightly enhance weight loss. However, $359.80 is way too much to pay for such a small loss of 2 pounds. Not just that its best to avoid companies that operate MLMs to sell their products.

Since the clinical study does seem to show a minimal enhanced weight loss can be achieved with these three ingredients, then why not give it a try? You can buy the ingredients separately for a total of $12 a month!
